BTS - The Greenhouse Collection

It has been a busy few weeks at Miller & Chalk preparing for our new collection to go live!

If you haven't seen already, last week I had our Spring Summer photoshoot in the most beautiful location, Ashbrook House. Luckily I did a last minute swap and changed the day of our shoot due to the weather forecast. When I woke up in the morning I was so pleased to see sunshine and blue skies and I was also so relieved that I changed the days as the following day was raining.

I woke up at 5am on the morning of the shoot as my first stop was my local flower market to pick up some fresh blooms. I always love going to the flower market and picking out seasonal flowers. I have a very clear vision of beautiful green foliage and delicate white flowers. I browsed the aisles of flowers and then selected the perfect variety. My car smelt and looked amazing!

Then I had a few more jobs to tick off the list before heading to Ashbrook House. As i turned down the driveway I was greeted by two little lambs who were being very nosey! I instantly knew I had picked the perfect location. After a few trips of unloading my car and carrying bits and pieces down to the greenhouse, I was ready to get started.

The greenhouse itself was the perfect backdrop with reclaimed arched windows, cobblestone floor and timber cladding along the back wall. The first job was to transform the freshly prepared beds by adding some fresh flowers and foliage.

I laid out all of the fresh flowers on the cobblestone floor and arranged them in height order. Starting with the thickest and tallest foliage I simply pushed each stem into the ground (as this was a temporary set up). I then worked my way through each bunch slowly building up the layers until I had achieved the desired look.

Then it was time to style the rest of the greenhouse with our brand new linen feather cushions and table linen. But you'll have to come back in a few days time to see those!
